On July 1, 2023, the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) and California Attorney General will begin enforcing the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA). Given the regulations were not adopted until late March of 2023, firms will need to work quickly to identify and address their privacy compliance obligations. To further complicate matters, the privacy regulation landscape is experiencing a significant transformation as 4 other states will have privacy laws in effect by the end of the calendar year, and many more states are pushing draft bills through their respective legislatures.
Please join ACA Aponix’s Alex Scheinman and Practical Privacy’s Bill Schaumann on June 22 to learn what your firm needs to do to meet its CPRA obligations, whether your firm is in-scope for the other state bills that have or will go into effect into 2023, and what actionable steps your firm can take to avoid enforcement actions.
